An organisations culture can have a noticeably big influence on safety outcomes. safety culture is a subset of the overall company’s culture. Have many companies talk about safety culture when referring to the inclination of their employees to comply with rules or act safely or unsafely. However, the culture and style of management is even more significant, for example, a natural unconscious bias for production over safety or a tendency to focus on the short term and being highly reactive may create an unsafe culture.
This course will introduce the trainees to the concepts safety culture, presenting an overview of its importance, the key elements of safety culture, how it could potentially be measured and how resources can be most effectively used to drive improvement in safety culture that then reflect in significantly improved safety performance.
